At Taste Great Southern this year we will be hosting an intimate event for coffee lovers called Roast. Cup. Sweet. – a specialty coffee short course with a sweet finish.
Go behind the scenes at our roasting HQ in Albany with chief roaster – Kade Sims, who will share his approach to sourcing, roasting, blending and tasting specialty coffee. The roaster will be fired up and it’s a rare opportunity to see a production roast in action whilst learning how the chemistry of the roasting process unlocks the flavours inside the humble coffee seed.
Then let the tasting will begin! You will enjoy a cupping session to explore the sensory qualities of coffee and how they differ as a result of where it is grown, how it is farmed and how it is roasted.
Oh, and did we mention doughnuts! To round things off, a freshly brewed espresso paired with the greatest gourmet doughnuts in the Great Southern, hand crafted by our friends at Drip Lock.
Before leaving we’ll also let you scoop a bag of coffee from the roaster to take home – simply nothing fresher!
